# Which Lawn Grass Seed is Right for You?

With several different types of turf or lawn grass seed out there, it can be difficult to identify which type of grass you have. Knowing which type of grass you have can be helpful when determining how to care for your lawn and keep it looking its best year round.

## Types of lawn grass seed
The maintenance you provide and the products you use on your lawn will depend on which type of grass you have. One of the biggest identifiers for your lawn is determining if you have a warm-season or a cool-season grass type. Warm-season grasses thrive in warm-weather regions and go dormant in the winter, and are typically found in the southern part of the U.S. Cool-season grasses do best in regions with more extreme temperatures in the summer and winter.
